We have fought an extremely difficult election where nearly 30 lakh genuine voters were allegedly disenfranchised from the electoral rolls. Throughout this entire process, we witnessed what we believe was deeply partisan conduct by several government agencies as well as the Election Commission of India.
Democratic institutions that are meant to function impartially appeared compromised, raising serious concerns about the fairness, credibility and transparency of the electoral process in West Bengal.
From the counting process to allegations surrounding the handling and movement of EVMs, Mismatch of Control Units, several disturbing incidents have left millions of people questioning whether the true mandate of the people has been respected. I have already demanded the release of CCTV FOOTAGE FROM THE COUNTING CENTRES and a transparent counting of VVPAT slips so that the truth can come before the people and every doubt can be addressed openly and honestly.
Democracy can only survive when electoral institutions inspire trust and confidence among citizens. Unfortunately, what we have witnessed has deeply shaken that trust.
At the same time, reports of post-poll violence, attacks on party offices, intimidation of our party workers and threats against supporters are deeply alarming and unacceptable in a democratic society. Many dedicated Trinamool workers and supporters who fought tirelessly on the ground have allegedly faced targeted attacks and have been forced to flee their homes out of fear and insecurity. No political worker in a democracy should ever have to choose between their safety and their political beliefs.
Keeping the democratic traditions of this great nation above everything else, my colleagues and I in the Trinamool Congress will continue to stand firmly with the people of West Bengal and with every Trinamool worker who fought tooth and nail against what we believe was a compromised electoral machinery.
We will continue to be a strong, vocal and uncompromising opposition both in Delhi and WB.
Under the guidance and leadership of Mamata Banerjee, our fight for democracy, constitutional values and the rights and dignity of the people will continue without fear and without compromise.
I urge every Trinamool supporter and worker to stay strong and united during this difficult time. If anyone has been subjected to post-poll violence, intimidation, or threats, I request them to reach out and share their details with me or DM me. I will do everything within my capacity to ensure their safety and security and pursue every available legal and democratic remedy. I will stand shoulder to shoulder with every Trinamool worker and supporter in this fight to ensure that truth prevails and that both governments now work genuinely in the interests of the people of West Bengal.

Hon' ble Mr Prime Minister,
Pained to ask: is this the way how you describe the meritorious students of the esteemed Jadavpur University? Is this your concept of decorum and courtesy? Jadavpur University has been receiving top ranks from your Government’s NIRF ranking framework year after year, and you descend to insult that centre of excellence? You stoop so low?
The students of the Jadavpur University have earned their place through merit and walk out with degrees, with intellect, with the ability to question. That is not anarchy. That is education and that is excellence.
Anarchy is not students raising their voices.
Anarchy is using bulldozers as instruments of power instead of justice. Anarchy is when farmers die and their voices are crushed. Anarchy is when those convicted of rape and other heinous crimes walk free for political convenience. Anarchy is denying the poor their rightful dues. Anarchy is dividing a nation along religious lines for votes. Anarchy is refusing to face the press, refusing accountability, refusing questions.
Anarchy is refusing to acknowledge that Manipur is burning but you are busy with elections.
Students protesting do not constitute a breakdown of democracy - it is democracy in motion.
Please do not defame the educational institution which was inspired by our early nationalists including Sri Aurobindo as a pioneer. Please do not defame Bengal.
BJP leaders believe they are above the law. And they have raised their children to believe the same.
In Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh, BJP MLA Pritam Lodhi's son rammed his vehicle into 5 people, then blamed the victims for not clearing the road fast enough. He threatened bystanders to stop recording. And then told the police, with breathtaking arrogance, that his father was an MLA who could handle even a murder.
This is not an isolated incident. In Lakhimpur Kheri, former Union Minister Ajay Mishra Teni's son ran over and killed 5 people in cold blood. The Minister kept his cabinet post. A pattern this consistent is not coincidence. It is culture.
BJP's culture. Where power is absolute, consequence is optional, and human lives are an inconvenience to be handled by a phone call to the ‘right’ person.
This is BJP's DNA.
On Poila Boishakh, I offered my prayers at Kalighat, seeking strength, clarity, and resolve for the path ahead. In the divine presence of Maa Kali, I prayed not just for personal strength, but for the well-being of every citizen of Bengal, for peace, dignity, and unity to prevail across our land. This sacred moment is a reminder that our journey is not merely political; it is a responsibility towards protecting harmony, upholding justice, and safeguarding the rights of our people.
There are forces that seek to disturb this balance, to divide and weaken the social fabric of Bengal. But with the blessings of Maa Kali, and with faith in the people, we will stand firm against every such attempt. We will not allow hatred to overshadow harmony, nor vested interests to derail Bengal’s progress.
This is a fight for truth. A fight for the rights and dignity of every Bengali. A fight to ensure that the future of our state remains secure, inclusive, and just. With Maa Kali’s blessings guiding us, we will continue this journey with even greater determination and strength.
Joy Maa Kali!
BJP came to Bengal riding on their grand Raths. They will be going back on the same chariots, in Ulta Rath.
They came with an ulterior motive to disenfranchise voters through SIR. They will be going back defeated by the very same democratic right they tried to steal. They came to sow seeds of division. They will be going back rejected in the land that stands as a beacon of harmony, inclusivity, and secularism.
They came with an agenda to humiliate, exploit, and torment the people. They will be going back rejected by the very same people they tried to break. They came mocking our luminaries, insulting our language, belittling our culture, and trying to ban our food habits. They came to Bengal with supreme arrogance. They will be going back with their heads bowed in submission.
Those who are spending these 15 days in Bengal ahead of the elections will be gone the very next day after 4th May, never to be seen again until the next election cycle. During the janasabhas at Barabani and Hansan in support of Bidhan Upadhyay and Fayezul Haque (Kajal Sk), I felt the pulse of the people.
The people of Paschim Bardhaman, Birbhum, and the whole of Bengal have already decided that not a single vote will go to the BJP in this election. The Delhi Zamindars came to conquer. They will leave humbled.

Narendra Modi and Amit Shah have become daily passengers to Bengal because elections are around the corner. But when North Bengal drowns in misery every year due to floods and natural calamities, both engines of their “Double Engine” sarkar fail completely. What have the people of North Bengal actually received from the BJP? Nothing. Zero. Nada. Zilch.
Not a single long-term measure to tackle the recurring flood crisis. The ₹1,000 crore package announced in 2021 was never released. No meaningful steps were taken to unlock the immense tourism potential of the region. Instead, what this “Dabba Engine” has delivered is only exploitation, humiliation, and torment. Withholding PF dues of tea garden workers. Serving NRC notices to our Rajbanshi brothers and sisters. Conspiring to divide North Bengal. Gunning down innocent people in Sitalkuchi
They have left behind a trail of misery, death, and destruction. And now, through the double blow of fraudulent SIR and thousands of fake Form 6 applications, they are trying to snatch away even your voting rights and hand them over to outsiders from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. But the people have had enough. If even one-third of the massive crowds that gathered at our janasabhas in Sitalkuchi, Rajganj, and Falakata in support of our candidates, Harihar Das, Swapna Barman, and Subhash Chandra Roy, stand in line and press the Joraphool button on 23rd April,
পাগলা খাবি কী ঝাঁঝে মরে যাবি...
The bulk submission of Form 6 is not just a violation, it is contempt of the Hon’ble Supreme Court.
The Supreme Court had given clear directions that voters under adjudication, after their cases are disposed of by judicial officers, can appeal only through properly constituted Appellate Tribunals. Yet, in brazen violation of the apex court’s orders, the Office of the @CEOWestBengal has accepted thousands of fraudulent Form 6 applications submitted by BJP operatives.
We have non-negotiable demands:
👉 Immediate release of all CCTV footage from the Office of the CEO-West Bengal to expose the scale and nature of this fraud.
👉 Full public disclosure of the exact number of Form 6 applications received, accepted, and processed.
👉 Immediate rejection and discarding of all such fraudulent and bulk Form 6 applications.
👉 Under precisely which legal provisions were these forms accepted?
👉 On what statutory basis is WB-CEO Office even receiving such fraudulent bulk submissions when it is not empowered to do so?
Under CPI(M) rule, Purulia bled every single day. Violence and bloodshed had become a daily nightmare. But after 2011, the Trinamool Congress ended the reign of terror, restored peace, and put Purulia firmly on the path of development.
Those leaders who are now flying in from Delhi with their “chargesheets” and suitcase full of lies wouldn’t have dared to show their faces in places like Baghmundi back then. The very fact that these election-season daily passengers can now come to Bengal, hold rallies anywhere, and spread lies freely is proof of the success of Maa-Mati-Manush Sarkar.
Yet today, with the Election Commission acting as their willing accomplice, the Bangla-Birodhi BJP jallads are conspiring to drag Purulia back to those dark days of CPI(M) harmad rule. Bengal knows how to resist. Bengal knows how to fight back. Bengal knows how to crush the black hand of oppression and exploitation. And Bengal will prevail.
The people of Baghmundi have already made up their minds that every single vote will go to Trinamool Congress candidate Shri Sushanta Mahato in this battle against the Kurmi-birodhi, Adivasi-birodhi, Purulia-birodhi BJP.
What we are witnessing is deeply concerning. There are growing indications of a coordinated attempt to interfere with the democratic rights of the people of Bengal - with the BJP at the centre of it and the ECI seemingly looking the other way.
People deserve to know what is happening to their votes. This isn’t a small issue- It goes to the very heart of free and fair elections.
We are receiving credible reports from several districts that large numbers of Form 6 applications (New Voters) are being submitted in a questionable manner. These are not routine additions. There are serious concerns that many of these entries may be linked to individuals who have no real connection to Bengal—people who don’t live here, don’t work here and have no stake in the state.
The video only adds to these concerns. It appears to show thousands of such forms being processed and stacked, raising valid questions about the scale and intent behind this exercise.
We have seen similar concerns being raised in other states during elections. Bengal cannot be allowed to go down that path.
Take a moment to watch this. Ask questions. Because this is not just about politics- it’s about protecting the integrity of our vote. This is the kind of “PARIBORTON” the BJP seeks to impose on Bengal.
The Election Commission must answer.
This is the kind of “PARIVARTAN” the BJP seeks to impose on the soil of Bengal. Immediately after the announcement of elections, the @ECISVEEP initiated sweeping administrative changes- replacing the Chief Secretary, Home Secretary, DGP, ADGs, IGs, SPs, DMs, the Kolkata Police Commissioner and even the KMC Commissioner. Such unprecedented interventions raise serious questions about intent and timing.
What has followed is even more disturbing. In the shadow of these changes, there are increasing reports of intimidation, where shops are being vandalised, tensions being stoked in the name of religion and ordinary people being made to suffer. We don’t need a “BULLDOZER MODEL”. We don’t need imported politics of hatred and violence.
It’s the para culture, the adda, the festivals we celebrate together, the respect we have for each other’s beliefs. THAT’S OUR IDENTITY.
For generations, Bengal has celebrated Durga Puja, Diwali, Poila Boishakh, Eid, Guru Nanak Jayanti, Buddha Purnima, and Christmas together without fear, without division and without violence. Yet in just the past few days, we are seeing a disturbing glimpse of the kind of “CHANGE” being pushed onto this land of revolutionaries.
The land of Rabindranath Tagore and Swami Vivekananda has always stood for tolerance, harmony and coexistence. For decades, Bengal has been a living example of unity in diversity.
Today, that very social fabric appears under strain. The question is: Who benefits from this disruption and at what cost to the people of Bengal?
Shame on @ECISVEEP@BJP4India !
Today, a 3-member delegation comprising Smt. Chandrima Bhattacharya, Smt. Shashi Panja, and Shri Bapi Halder met with @CEOWestBengal and submitted a strongly worded letter highlighting serious irregularities in the conduct of SIR in Bengal. The key issues raised include:
👉 Mass misclassification of all voters in Bengal as “Under Adjudication”, even those already cleared in the final electoral rolls.
👉 Publication of incomplete supplementary rolls, in clear violation of the Hon’ble Supreme Court’s directions and the CEO’s own public assurance.
👉 Complete absence of a clear roadmap for effective voter remedy through appellate tribunals.
👉 Appointment of “neutral” Observers who have direct political connections, serious conflicts of interest, and are clearly unfit for the role.
These irregularities raise grave concerns about the fairness and transparency of the entire electoral process in Bengal. We demand immediate corrective action from the Election Commission to restore the confidence of the people in the democratic process.
We have written to @CEOWestBengal highlighting systemic failures in the SIR process, whether stemming from incompetence or by design. On ECI’s own portal, all voters were suddenly marked as “under adjudication” or “deleted,” irrespective of their actual status. This included voters who had already been cleared or reinstated. The large-scale breakdown affected millions, creating widespread fear, confusion, and distrust in the system.
At the same time, while around 29 lakh cases were reportedly cleared, only about 7.5 lakh have been reflected in the supplementary rolls. Despite clear Supreme Court directions, there has been unacceptable delay, opacity, and a complete lack of transparency. No data has been disclosed, no category-wise breakdown provided, and no reasoned explanations given for deletions. This has denied citizens the ability to understand or challenge their exclusion.
Equally alarming is the absence of any clear roadmap for appellate tribunals, leaving voters without a meaningful avenue for redress and reducing a constitutional right to an illusion. This is further compounded by the questionable appointment of police observers with apparent political links, which undermines the neutrality and integrity of the process.
We demand immediate corrective action: a public explanation for the mass misclassification, daily publication of complete supplementary rolls, full transparency in deletions with clear reasons, and the establishment of a clear, accessible appellate mechanism. The right to vote is a constitutional guarantee that must be protected at all costs.
This is precisely why judicial authority was diluted and the Chief Justice of India was removed from the CEC selection panel. If this trajectory continues, it won’t be long before Supreme Court judgments appear politically stamped.
Those sworn to protect the Constitution are now chipping away at its very foundations to serve narrow political ends. A BETRAYAL OF BOTH DUTY AND DEMOCRACY.
What a troubling decline for our institutions!
Today, under the leadership of our Hon’ble Chairperson Smt. @MamataOfficial, and in the presence of National General Secretary Shri @abhishekaitc and State President Shri Subrata Bakshi, the full list of candidates for the upcoming Assembly elections has been announced.
We extend our best wishes to all the candidates.
Here are our candidates from Cooch Behar, Alipurduar, Jalpaiguri, Kalimpong, Darjeeling, Uttar Dinajpur, Dakshin Dinajpur, and the Habibpur, Gazole, and Chanchal Assembly Constituencies of Malda 👇
I am happy to announce that our Ma-Mati-Manush government has delivered on its promise to all its employees and pensioners, and to lakhs of teachers and non-teaching staff of our educational institutions, as well as employees/ pensioners of our other grant-in-aid instititions like panchayats, municipal bodies, other local bodies etc.
They will start receiving their ROPA 2009 DA arrears from March 2026 onwards as per the modalities detailed out in the Notifications issued by our Finance Department.
I condemn, in the strongest possible terms, the dastardly, cowardly and utterly reprehensible attack on our Hon'ble Minister Smt. Shashi Panja. Her home was vandalised and ransacked. Our party workers and supporters were mercilessly beaten. And she herself was physically assaulted, with stones and bricks hurled at her, leaving her injured.
A serving Cabinet Minister was attacked in broad daylight by BJP goons emboldened by their Prime Minister's presence in the city. This is not an attack on one woman. This is an attack on every woman of Bengal. Bengal has seen this before. In 2019, from Amit Shah's rally, the bust of Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar was vandalised and desecrated.
This is BJP’s culture. These BOHIRAGOTO BJP ZAMINDARS want to import their politics of PROVOCATION to Bengal. They want to destroy peace. They want to spread fear. This will neither be forgiven, nor be forgotten.
Bengal will not tolerate BJP’s SAFFRON GUNDAGARDI.
