Happy 250th birthday to the greatest country the world has ever known! 🇺🇸
The greatness of the United States is a testament to the grit, determination, and spirit of the American people—and we’re just getting started.
Here’s to the next 250 years, America!
– DKP 🇺🇸
I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
America's ranchers deserve better.
For generations, Chris Heaton and his family have worked the land, cared for their livestock, and lived the values that built this country.
Now, they're facing uncertainty because of a nearly 1-million-acre national monument designation that puts traditional ranching at risk and leaves hardworking producers wondering if simply doing their jobs could make them lawbreakers.
That's not how we protect the American West.
On Thursday, July 2, I'll join @SecRollins and Administrator @SBA_Kelly for a Lawfare Roundtable to hear directly from Chris and other producers who are fighting back against government overreach.
If we're serious about protecting America's food supply and preserving our ranching heritage, we need policies that trust the people who know the land best. NOT more bureaucracy from Washington.
Arizona State University @ASU is in court fighting 89 year old Robert Young to take the home he's owned since 1975 for their "green space." I'm calling on ASU's President, @michaelcrow to reach out to me ASAP. This is not ok. We must defend this man.

📢 Today in Courts, Corrections & Justice Committee, we once again discussed issues that New Mexicans care deeply about: repeat offenders, violent crime, and the devastating impact fentanyl continues to have on our communities.
For several years, Republicans have brought forward legislation aimed at addressing repeat offenders, strengthening accountability for violent criminals, and increasing penalties for those trafficking fentanyl. Unfortunately, many of these proposals have failed to advance despite growing concerns from law enforcement, first responders, victims, and families across New Mexico.
Fentanyl is not just another drug. It is killing New Mexicans at an alarming rate and leaving families devastated.
At the same time, communities continue to express frustration with a revolving-door justice system that too often releases repeat offenders back onto our streets.
Public safety should not be a partisan issue.
We’re now seeing the dangers extend beyond the users themselves. First responders are increasingly being placed in hazardous environments where powerful narcotics and drug contamination create serious risks. In the recent Mountainaire incident, first responders were injured while responding to a scene involving dangerous drugs inside the residence. The men and women who answer our calls for help should not have to fear being poisoned simply for doing their jobs.
How many more families need to lose loved ones to fentanyl? How many more victims must suffer at the hands of repeat offenders? How many more police officers, firefighters, EMTs, and deputies must be put at risk before we act?
It is time to stop making excuses. It is time to stop studying the problem. It is time to stop putting politics ahead of public safety.
New Mexico must get serious about fentanyl, repeat violent offenders, and protecting the first responders who put their lives on the line for us every day.
