Just over 2 years ago i had my picture book released. It was the joy of my life. I hope it becomes a joy to others - available on Goodreads and many other online bookstores #PictureBooks #austinmacauley #ChildrensBooks

The fruiting bodies of a slime mould and the skeleton of a decaying leaf. The slime mould is about 3mm tall. Taken during one of my fungi photography workshops this autumn.

Here's teaser two ahead of December's #7DayTale

Tread carefully, as we create a path through a picture postcard view.

Unsteady, unsure, well stay together, and we’ll know just what to do.

#7DayTale returns Monday, December 4th and I offer you part one of your teaser.

When icy winds blow and the snow falls deep, all across the land.

Put on your gloves, a coat and scarf and take me by the hand.❄️

Burning torches light the way, and blood-red eyes flicker menacingly from behind tired old posters, lurking on the edge of the shadows.

October's #7DayTale is drawing closer, and the ringmaster beckons you to join the terrifying thrills, and curdling chills.

The show awaits...

Day 7
'Falling onto decayed land
the knight changes shape
Time elapses
to the point we are at now

- I am the knight!
My sword of flame
has become
my monstrous nightmarish body
that will not die'

The Fae take flight
toward the creature.

Day 1
During the turning of the day
shadows dance
and secrets are revealed

A mythic creature with scales of gold
in a hidden cave
steps forward to tell a tale

[Barbara A Smith @BarbAnn]

#7DayTale #poetrycommunity #fantasy
Day 5
'The knight climbed
until the day became night
with courage and determination.
Reaching through the open window
beauty turned ....
beyond the living'

The sound of despair
echoed
through the mountains.

[Barbara A Smith @BarbAnn]

#7DayTale #poetrycommunity #fantasy Day 6
'Sorcery at play
brings forth a curse
revealing the wolf
in lambs clothing
turning our world into
its darkest depths'

Here lay a broken creature
torn between
life and death
mortal or immortal
