We've begun a long-term project to digitise the historic courtroom depositions in our care. Held at #JerseyArchive, the records are from 1864 onwards and cover cases ranging from theft and slander to bigamy and murder, helping us to understand societal change in #JerseyCI.

Joining their afternoon lineup is Professor Jo Delahunty KC (@JoDQC), who has been invited as a guest speaker to deliver her presentation, "𝗟𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗪𝗮𝗿𝗳𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗿 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗳𝗮𝗿𝗲 - 𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝗪𝗲 𝗔𝗱𝗱𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴?" In this session, Jo will explore the challenges of balancing legal proceedings with the welfare of children and examining the true cost of "winning".
Ahead of Friday’s conference, Jo has also been invited back to deliver her 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗰𝘆 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀 to Jersey Advocates tomorrow. This follows the training session she delivered in November 2024 on domestic abuse, coercive and controlling behaviour to the judiciary and court services in Jersey, at the invitation of Samantha McFadzean, Family Division Judge of the Royal Court of Jersey, and Robert MacRae, HM Deputy Bailiff.
