The #Indo-#Myanmar border has emerged as a key transit route for narco-trafficking, with Myanmar’s political instability further fueling the illicit trade. The proliferation of synthetic drugs like methamphetamine, coupled with heroin production in the Golden Triangle, has strengthened cross-border smuggling networks. This illicit economy is deeply intertwined with armed insurgencies, human trafficking, and illegal arms trade, posing a serious threat to India’s border states—Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, and Arunachal Pradesh.
