If you honestly think it’s so easy to apply for disability benefits, I dare you to call the DWP, tell them you’ve got tennis elbow and demand money.
Let us know how easy it is.
#PIP
@CurtisDaly_ Oh I'm sure Jenrick is on the phone to the BBC as we speak demanding live coverage of a press conference tomorrow where he rants and raves about how "unfair" it is to the taxpayer blahh, blah, blah
@justdavenow89 I’ve got lots of ignorant colleagues who all seem to know someone who’s been denied PIP but a bloke down the pub’s third cousin’s best mate’s grandpa knows someone who’s taking the piss.
Guess which study they think is representative.
@justdavenow89 my mother works in the healthcare sector - even SHE believes that some people call a gp and get a sick note to get pip
(she's mostly behind the scenes, so no one-on-one care with patients thank god)
@energyarrow2 They really don’t see how foolish it makes them look. On the one hand they’re saying its easy to get yet in the other, complaining about sites that “coach” people on how to get it. They’ve clearly not tried it themselves.
@areyoflight They are totally inconsistent too. Rant and rave about people "coaching" claimants to get PIP while simultaneously saying you need to provide no evidence to get it. Why would anyone need "coaching" then?
Why do so many non-disabled people think they know more about benefits than disabled people?
They think made-up anecdotes about their neighbour scamming the system because they can’t see his disability makes them the ultimate authority on it.
Then they’re enraged when corrected by disabled people with actual experience of benefits.
