I’m struggling with scrupulosity—which Twitter exacerbates—and I’m planning, on advice, to delete the app and take a break. But before leaving I want to thank @ISASaxonists, @dorothyk98, and others for the work you’re doing here. You have taught me so much in the past few months.
@DannyBate4 Well it’s only something my prof said in passing. We’re looking at the σ third declension nouns and talking about contraction. He basically said in this case intervocalic sigma drops out but in other cases it becomes rho. I guess I’ll have to ask him for more specifics next class
@DannyBate4 I need your help. TIL that intervocalic σ becomes ρ and I’m so confused. Going from unvoiced to voiced is what I’m used to... how in the world do you get from fricative to tap or even trill?
@saltfish40mp3 Re York, I went the whole year without running into him fwiw, and I didn’t even know to avoid him at the time. But also I was MedLits so it might be substantially harder w History or MedStudies. The main campus / King’s Manor divide is real though.

And unless I come into some major inheritance or my parents are EXTREMELY generous for my birthday, probably not. Here in the US for the year.
@saltfish40mp3 first impression: the keenest of beans! a fellow adorable gay! wish we were MAing together!
now: better Twitter game than I’ll ever have, best source for all the Gerald and race tweets my heart desires
(cd you send me your Leeds paper btw? was real bummed to miss it)
