@BenKentish I agree, but Tapp's suggestion is still constitutionally illiterate and divorced from the reality of parliamentary democracy. Australia went through a similar period last decade and eventually it left the political system's blood.
@lalauren18@tennisweeklypod I like Taylor, and he's great on grass, but he hasn't won anything above a 250 since October 2022, so I don't expect him to be holding the Challenge Cup in three weeks, but let's see. π
@lalauren18@tennisweeklypod No, but this was a discussion about winning the title, and as any top player will say, there's a huge difference between semis/final and actually winning the whole thing.
@BenRothenberg Not expecting too much at Wimbledon, he's only made one 4th round in nine attempts, and, outside of Federer, winning Halle has not been a great guide to success at SW19 in recent times. However, he is certainly one to watch on the US summer hardcourts.
@marcus_buckland It didn't offend me but it's simple economics, the ATP knows the importance of broadcast partners to its bottom line, had to send a message they won't tolerate anything jeopardising that. Classic FAFO.
@SimoninSuffolk It's incredible, so rich in details, managed to see it 3 times in Bayeux over the years so will be skipping the London crowds this time.
A lot of respect for Evo, but he's had his fair share of wildcards over the years, has been in terrible form (injury-affected), and he still got a Queen's qualifying wildcard ahead of higher ranked Brits...
Dan Evans after being refused a main draw wild card for his last Queen's Club appearence.
βIt would have been a classy gesture to give me a wild card, but obviously that was lacking on this occasion and I was in qualifying. I think wild cards are a good thing for Brits. I would say you hope to do enough years of service for your country to maybe get one in your last tournament at Queenβs, but that wasnβt the way they went."
Ended up losing in QR1 to Giron.

@SimoninSuffolk@paulajaynebyrne It's a wonderfully vivid biography. Excellent Women is brilliant, I also really love A Glass of Blessings, but my favourite is The Sweet Dove Died, just a perfectly formed novel.
