NeoTrade does not rely on a single layer of protection.

Its safety model is built on the principle of Defense in Depth multiple independent control layers standing between an Agent’s idea and an actual trade.

No matter how intelligent the Agent’s reasoning is, every order must still pass through five separate gates before it can be executed.

The 5 Independent Gates

1. Trading Master Switch

This is the global on/off switch for all trading.
When it is turned off, every order is refused. No Agent can place a trade, regardless of its mode or configuration.

2. Per Agent Enable

Each Agent has its own individual enable/disable toggle.

You can turn off one specific Agent without affecting any of the others that are still running.

3. Approval Mode

In Copilot mode: Every order requires your explicit manual approval.

In Auto mode: Only orders that stay within the defined limits can execute automatically. Any order that exceeds the per-order cap still requires your approval.

4. Auto Limits

Hard limits are enforced in code:

Position limits

Daily order caps

Spend caps

The Agent cannot negotiate with or bypass these limits. They are system level rules, not soft instructions written in a prompt.

5. Decision Gate

This is the final and critical check.

Even after you have approved an order, the Decision Gate still runs a series of deterministic verifications:
Is the edge sufficient?

Does the bankroll fraction stay within limits?

Are position limits respected?

If any condition fails, the order is blocked.
Approval is necessary, but never sufficient.

Why this design matters

Most AI systems try to control behavior through prompts (“don’t risk more than 5% of capital”).

NeoTrade does the opposite: risk controls are ordinary code, not language instructions.

The Agent cannot negotiate, cannot forget, and cannot be tricked by prompt injection into bypassing these limits.

In summary

The five independent gates form a strict control chain:
Trading Master Switch → Per Agent Enable → Approval Mode → Auto Limits → Decision Gate

This is how NeoTrade ensures that AI intelligence is always constrained by the authority and rules you define fully aligned with its core philosophy:
