This is a THEFT far worse than Watergate. There is no other word for it. They are stealing $1.78 BILLION dollars to pay Trump‘s allies, despite knowing that these people are not legally entitled to any money and be laughed out of court if they filed a lawsuit for money damages.
@mattyglesias@andreaskyng He likely will in the end. He just need to demostrate first that any other constellation is imposible (for the good of the country, etc.)
I love how Nordic and Baltic legends just consistently remain our biggest supporters and they are so gracious and humble about it too.
No demands to beg and grovel, no "say thank you" or guilt tripping, no blackmail and pressure, no obnoxious power plays.
Thank you so much 🥲
The US is now doing the kind of things we used to make fun of banana republics for doing when I was a kid.
I know not all the people who supported this man are idiots. Is there a point where the non-idiots say "enough is enough?"
Trump's goal is to create some horrifying escalating cycle of violence that plunges us further into a stage of exception and I have no idea how we avoid that.
The ghouls on this app are reacting to this the way you'd expect, but they are not real people.
Real people--your neighbors, friends, anyone with a conscience--see this and feel angry and sad. Real people know it's wrong.
When I lived in Copenhagen some 20 years ago, I remember Denmark being a fierce ally of the US and in NATO, contributing troops to both Afghanistan and Iraq.
Not only did Denmark pay a high price for their involvement - with one of the highest per-capita losses of soldiers in Afghanistan - but also back at home: the society was plagued by terror threats linked to the involvement in the US operations. Plots or extremist activities were luckily uncovered and thwarted.
Over the years, Denmark truly has put some serious skin in the game and its people make great and trustworthy allies. As Finland, we are more than happy to be in NATO, together with our other Nordic friends, contributing to the security of the entire alliance - also in the Arctic.
Self-evidently, it is for Denmark and Greenland to decide on matters concerning Denmark and Greenland.
@gulklud Det kunne da være spændende hvis I et eller andet sted gav en indikation af prisniveauet... ;-). Eller er det et tilfælde af at hvis man bliver nød til at spørge har man ikke råd?
@Malcopticon@mattyglesias In Denmark at least we do have school-busses - but mostly in rual areas. In the cities the kids just take the normal city-bus if needed
