How effective is the Olympic rain shadow?
Forks received almost 24 times the amount that fell in Seattle yesterday.
A daily record of 2.85" was recorded in Forks.
And, in Seattle? 0.12".

Seattle's new meteorological fall rain record is impressive in its own right, but pales in comparison to what fell in 90 days over parts of the Olympics & Cascades with more than 50 inches.
In Forks, rain in the past 90 days exceeds what Vegas typically gets in 13 years.

For those waiting on pins and needles to see if Forks would break the daily rainfall record, you can rest assured that a new daily record will be set. Currently 1.84" and counting. Old record was 1.74" in 2003.
October 2003. Phew. What a month for rainfall that was.
