Welcome! I'm a mental health advocate focusing on psychoses. My aim is to educate, promote recovery and help shatter the stigma surrounding these disorders.
I have schizoaffective disorder, an illness that includes psychotic symptoms. And yet, I'm just like you. Here, I will share my own experiences, resources and advice on the topic of psychoses. Questions & tips are encouraged! πΉ

Today I had a meeting with my psychiatrist and we stated that I've pretty much recovered after a serious relapse in my #schizoaffectivedisorder. It's taken about 8 months. There's hope you guys! Take care of yourself and reach out for help. You'll be OK ππΉπ #mentalhealth
@JustAshleyH @lifeinunreality One way to get around that issue is to ask both those who suffer at the moment but also those who have recovered from severe psychosis or at least are doing much better.
@lifeinunreality I would say both psychiatrists and sufferers. When Ninja Theory started working on Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, a video game about psychosis, they consulted several mental health professionals and a group of people with experience of psychosis.
I'm trying not to let this war mess with my mental health but it's not easy. But it's OK, you know? It means you're human.
Ukraine, we stand with you. Russians, we know you don't want this war. Everyone, let's promote kindness and solidarity.

@lifeinunreality I think it depends on the character. A name can say a lot about who they are.
PS. I personally find the word "madness" stigmatizing of people w psychosis.
I'm blown away by all the wonderful advise in the comments of my post. So many people who want to help others, it's a beautiful thing. I recommend poring through the comments if you're dealing with a #mentalhealth debut.
