@redchinchompa@Messiah_OSRS@OSRS2ndBase Ehh idk why you’re so hostile but I kinda agree with him on the visual aspect, regardless of YouTube. They could simply move the old value text to the bottom of the screen instead to show the full number value like before. It’s both form and function.
@rezo1ve@Messiah_OSRS Ehhh I’d say I partially agree on the voting. Idk about “giving marked full control” because based on my own discussions in the past with people about wilderness content, there’s a MAJOR disconnect as to what actually increased activity… That’s a much longer discussion tho…
@rezo1ve@Messiah_OSRS At this point they need to take a first principles approach and do a complete rethink of “what is the wilderness and what’s the desired outcomes?” Otherwise it’s just going to be in the same current state.
@rezo1ve@Messiah_OSRS I forget precisely but they had polled the wilderness expansion. Previous to that there was the PvP arena rewards which were originally proposed to work in the wilderness and had the “void-like” set that got totally blown up and now has no use. Along with many other things…
@Messiah_OSRS@OSRS2ndBase It’s subjective yes but you’re also right. It’s more visually appealing to see the big value. Especially when you’re making videos and such (which I like to watch many videos).
Maybe suggest they have options that filter the display based on # of keys”
@Messiah_OSRS@OSRS2ndBase My advice to you is that instead of simply complaining about it, offer a suggestion.
“I like the fact that we don’t have to click every single key now. To add to this though, I liked the old long value of the key which was graphically appealing. Could this number be moved?”
@MarinFan347@Messiah_OSRS Unfortunately that won’t change anything. Wilderness activity, or lack there of stems from much more than just an area expansion, though an area expansion would help. That doesn’t get at the root causes / central issues as to why it’s inactive in the first place.
@Messiah_OSRS@OSRS2ndBase In what universe is the old style better vs opening and filtering through all keys at once without needing to constantly reclick the chest?
This just screams pure hate of change of any kind tbh… guarantee a few weeks from now you’ll be loving it and not even thinking about it
I remember back when I was pushing for this and many people complained “you’re so stupid… people would NEVER make a 50 def pure… blah blah blah” goes to show the lack of vision in the OSRS community as always. Just make to take a victory lap as usual cuz I’m right @OldSchoolRS
@MoldRs@Atlantis_OSRS@Mankedupmage@JagexAyiza@OldSchoolRS I can’t take all of the credit but I will take the credit for even making it 50 def. They first offered this at 70 def and wouldn’t budge on 45 def when I originally pushed for that so then I made the case to settle for 50 in hopes they can revisit lowering it to 45 in future…
@MopeSolo@eliopdagod lol yeah I guess technically people do go for those at SOME POINT but ehh no real “purpose” up there other than maybe agility or the slayer key chest
In addition, have you thought about updating the wilderness levels and capping the level diff at 20 or so for example, so that you can get lower level accounts to venture deeper into the wilderness without getting steamrolled by a maxed level account?
@OldSchoolRS have you guys considered the idea of capping stats on gear at a certain max threshold in the wilderness to scale down some of the gear diff to lower required risk levels/balance the fights to skill more than gear? This seems like it’d be a good idea to debate.
@OldSchoolRS All of this looks pretty good to me. Very dynamic and expansive. Gives many items a use case scenario as well which stimulates and stabilizes the economy. Pretty good update tbh
That take a decent bit of mechanics to kill but nothing over burdensome and also have a “limited-multi” experience.
Many other MMOs have moved in this direction and have been seeing success with this.
Just some food for thought @OldSchoolRS@Jagex
@JagexAsh OSRS should consider a trial area that consists of a new form of “partial loot PvP” where you keep your equips items on death, if you die you pay a fee to “repair” or “un-corrupt” your items (based on their GP value) and if you die you lose all items in your inventory.
Fight in your best gear you’re most comfortable with, with little risk other than the uncorrupt cost, while being able to engage in “safe-PvP style combat” while doing pve type things and exploring the new area. The area could be loaded up with larger mini-boss type mobs…
