I see this stuff on Twitter about guys “working.” These same Dudes have been in my gym…but they aren’t anymore. “Work” is NOT half speed 5/5 pickup! That’s why your “work” is getting you NOWHERE! #flywithus
People call us “Old School Coaches.” You mean like: Be on time, Do your job, close out, box out, shout out, run out, help on “D?” Give 100% on every rep? Thanks, We’ll take that! #flywithus
There's exceptions to every rule, but the coaches who spend the majority of their time complaining or arguing every call, lose focus on the most important thing, COACHING (It's hard to coach when you constantly focus all your time/energy with the officials)
I've been a college basketball assistant coach for 5 years now. Few things I've learned in this business.
1) 100% loyalty to your head coach is non-negotiable!
2) Put in work beyond what you are asked to do daily.
3) Love your guys and show them love always.
4) No true days off.
