His funeral will take place in St Giles in the Wood where he will be buried with his beloved Alison. It will be immediate family only.
Toast him this Sunday with a roast and loads of his favourite roasties.
Or a donation to the North Devon Hospice.
RIP Harry
Its is with great sadness that we at Barnstaple Station have lost a great friend and ex colleague in Dennis "Harry" Worth.
After a short illness diagnosed in October, Harry passed away peacefully on Saturday evening. He spent the day with his daughters and granddaughters. 1/2
Today, we have sadly lost a valued and much loved serving member of our team. Watch Manager Mark Quick was a very popular member of our Service and will be missed by all.
πSHOUTπ
This afternoon during an SRT drill, Blue Watch were called first to a small animal rescue and then to an RTC. A car had left the road on the A377. With Chulmleigh's crew and the air ambulance we extricated the driver to a waiting ambulance.
Despite the rain this morning, Blue Watch were out and testing hose. All the hose on the station needs an annual pressure test. As you can see some were below standard and need fixing or replacing.
White Watch have been carrying out their Swift Water Rescue training at Warrington Rowing Club. Please do NOT swim in open water. Donβt let a cooling dip be the last thing you ever do. Even strong swimmers can drown in open water. @CheshireFire

πTRAININGπ
Mondays training for Blue Watch was all about line rescue. We constructed a high line across an old quarry and lowered a stretcher and attendant down to the fallen casualty. The casualty was then packaged into the stretcher and both were raised and moved to safety.
ππ¦TRAININGπ¦π
This afternoon Blue Watch were once again training. This time they simulated a high rise incident. It was a learning drill as opposed to a full on drill. The Bronto was used a a dry riser.
ππ¦TRAININGπ¦π
Blue Watch were this morning honing their Bronto skills. The aim of the exercise was to lift the full bucket of water off of the bin, knock the cone over and place the bucket back on the bin. For every litre of waste spilt a minute was added to the time.
