Very temporary. Boycotts are always temporary. Virtue signaling lasts as long as people cheer you on. Manufacturing (estimates up to 40%) moving to the US will cripple Canada’s economy much more than tourism will hurt the US. No reason to get angry… no one else in this convo is being emotional. 😘 I’m just trying to help you guys see the bigger picture.

The point is to hopefully educate my Canadian friends. Emotions are killing you. Bragging about a few billion in temporary tourism “losses” while losing 10’s of billions in manufacturing capacity permanently is not a win. It’s a huge loss while cheering. Crisis will come and it will be too late.

Investments of that nature take decades to pivot. Canadas competitive advantage has always been proximity to the US market. Lose that and you’re in trouble.
