It isn’t every day that you get to become a hero by rescuing superheroes using magnets! The children in Y1 were fantastic scientists; working scientifically by observing closely, sorting and classifying and using their findings and knowledge to answer questions.@Barrell_SMCA
Year 1 had an extra PE lesson this week without PE kits so we focused on target games with Rolling, Throwing, Sliding and Kicking different equipment 👌🏼@Dodgson_SMCA@Barrell_SMCA
Oh no…he’s BACK! Ask your child all about how The Naughty Bus made an appearance in school last week…we journeyed around school and plotted his journey on aerial maps! #geography
#WorldMentalHealthDay…started by making a healthy breakfast to get our mind ready for the day. We then learned about our emotions through, The Colour Monster and made sensory bottles. We did exercise and breathing and learned about keeping our ‘buckets’ full with kindness.💛
We are preparing for Harvest here in Year One, by planning and making rainbow salads! We enjoyed learning about how food is grown, preparing food safely and enjoying the tastes 😀🥗🍎🍓🌽🥒
Our wonderful Year Ones have settled into their learning amazingly. We are so proud! We have recently found some strange objects in our classroom…left by a very cheeky penguin, from our class story, ‘Lost and Found’. We can’t wait to write about his adventures this half term.
Y1 have been developing their geography skills this week.We have worked hard to learn about aerial views and we started very ‘close to home’ in our classroom. Using iPads, we photographed the tabletops and classroom from above, and then made our own maps using the aerial view.🧭
In Science, Y1LD and Y1SB had a great time investigating the materials that could be found in our environment. The children were able to distinguish between objects and the materials that they were made from. 🔍#youngscientists#everydaymaterials
Amelia-Grace has been working on developing her money skills further. She has also written a brilliant fact file about herself and described the scene in 'Golidlocks and Just the One Bear' 🐻
Ciara has done an amazing job with her scientific observations this week! It looks like she had wonderful fun creating her lava lamp and fireworks in a jar! 🎇🎆🔎
Dexter has been hard at work this week! He dazzled me with his time telling, spelling and grammar, and his super continents work. He also found and named all the capital cities in the UK. 🌟
Another round up of the fabulous work from our superstars this week...!
Here is Tamsyn caring great care of her guinea pig Nougat, and great care of herself with some yoga. 🧘♀️
