ABS isn’t about getting calls right
It’s about when to challenge.
The same pitch can be meaningless early and worth 0.5+ runs in a full-count, bases-loaded spot.
The best teams won’t challenge more, they’ll challenge smarter.

The American League's division leaders are spending roughly $449 million less than their National League counterparts.
The standings are not nearly as far apart.
What does that say about the value of payroll once a team reaches contender status?
💸💸💸
3 of Jose Ramirez's 8 Home Runs this season have come from fastballs in an 0-0 Count
Pitchers are trying to get ahead early.
José is sitting on one mistake.
Home Run Pitch ☄️
Young bats are taking over 🔥
Players age 23 & under (min 25 PA) are already making noise this year with 30 hitters combining for:
• 3,144 PA

• 42.43% hard-hit rate
The next wave is here, and they were all born after 2001...
@TooMuchMortons_ Our definition of power is different.
To me, power is the ability to hit a baseball with force. This is where we differ, which is fine.
I totally agree that this swing is suboptimal for hitting home runs /xbh.
This is fallacious. Elite exit velocity already demonstrates effective power transfer.
Saying his mechanics are suboptimal but his talent overrides physics is just inventing an exception to the rule.
The difference is power output in the form of Home Runs / xbh in which I agree swing changes need to be made
@TooMuchMortons_ The point which I believe we agree on is that the real issue is barrel delivery and swing path variables.
Right now, he is setting himself up for power output. He is swinging the hammer perfectly, he's just not hitting the nail
