The James M. Barrie Center for Children, Inc., often referred to as the Barrie Center, is the Children’s Advocacy Center serving all of Etowah County, Alabama.
The Barrie Center is partnering with Tyler Elliott Allstate Agency for our 1st Annual Back to School Drive. We are collecting school supplies that will be distributed to children here at The Barrie Center. Drop off donations at Allstate Agency. Thank you for supporting us.
Did you know that the Barrie Center offers FREE training on mandatory reporting and recognizing the signs of child abuse?
Our trainings can also be specialized for any group- healthcare professionals, teachers, law enforcement, churches, etc.
Child Abuse Awarenees Month is a great time to talk to your child about body safety! Take some time this week to talk to them about body safety rules and establish a "safety network" of adults that they could tell if something makes them feel bad.

(1/2) April is both Sexual Assault Awareness Month and Child Abuse Prevention Month. We may ask, why do victims of sexual abuse tend to stay quiet? Why didn’t my child tell me about this traumatic event?
Happy #WearBlueDay from the Barrie Center! We wear our blue in support and awareness of all children and families who have been affected by child abuse and neglect.
Be sure to share your Wear Blue Day photos with #BarrieCenterGoesBlue! 🎉
