🥇 | @davidlynchlfc: “There were other missteps in press conferences, too, including the bizarre refusal to praise fringe players, most notably Calvin Ramsay.
“Nobody expected Klopp’s successor to possess the same level of charisma, but that did not excuse missing the open goal of keeping a player you might need feeling involved and important.
“And it is why it was hard to imagine Slot ever being able to rock up at Nottingham Forest and win with Joe Gomez and Bobby Clark starting in central midfield, as his predecessor once did.”
I have witnessed this club go from doubters to believers, and from believers to champions. It took hard work and I always did everything I could to help the club get there. Nothing makes me prouder than that.
Us crumbling to yet another defeat this season was very painful and not what our fans deserve. I want to see Liverpool go back to being the heavy metal attacking team that opponents fear and back to being a team that wins trophies. That is the football I know how to play and that is the identity that needs to be recovered and kept for good. It cannot be negotiable and everyone that joins this club should adapt to it.
Winning some games here and there is not what Liverpool should be about. All teams win games.
Liverpool will always be a club that means a great deal to me and to my family. I want to see it succeed for long after I have moved on.
As I’ve always said, qualifying to next season’s Champions League is the bare minimum and I will do everything I can to make that happen.
I’ve seen some unbelievable football and incredible success following the reds, but I’ve also seen some shite. This is quite possibly the worst I’ve ever seen. Tactically inept. Can’t defend. Weak in midfield. Don’t attack. Shit show all over the park. Fuckin crap.
We spent over £400M last summer but it feels like this summer we've more work to do than ever.
If Alisson leaves, we really need to consider if we are prepared long term. We've no energy in midfield and lack creativity from full backs that we had before.
Most worrying is the side don't seem to be giving it their all, simple as that. We can't even concentrate correctly, allowing opposition players run free, take free shots and go unopposed for goal scoring moments.
That performance is giving me Stoke 2015 vibes, as mentioned.
We can sign every player in the world but if we won't make that hard run, close that player in time, show enough aggression we can forget about it.
I don't know where to start !!!im absolutely shattered after seeing these performances over the last 12 months since we won the league v spurs.
This will be our 11 th defeat of the season in the league and over 12 months more. Some of the things i'm seeing astounds me.Weve no identity whatsoever.
Albert Riera explains his fine system — and it’s about more than money.
Yes, there are fines. Yes, it affects the pocket — because that hurts. But there’s more.
Players also have to give time and service: clean teammates’ boots, work with the analyst, spend an hour with the grounds staff.
Not as punishment.
As education.
Miss a rule? Be late?
No drama.
You pay, you contribute, you move on.
Rules apply to everyone.
Responsibility builds respect.
And respect builds culture.
🎙️🇪🇸 Thiago Alcântara: "I have that ‘hate modern football’ mentality... I’m more classic in attitude.
"The No.10 role has almost disappeared. We see less magic, less fantasy. Footballers do more, but faster. Players are more developed in every sense… the playmaker who was slower, even if he had sublime technique, doesn’t get the opportunity to turn anymore.
There's also VAR. I've always been against it and wish it didn’t exist. It takes the essence of the game away from you.
We make mistakes when we play. Referees must do so too, as they are human. Without trickery, many famous moments in the history of football would not have happened."
