@Mrjonahrussell We thought there was no bigger story than Barrie’s extinction til we read this. There is a bigger story afterall. Thanks for tweeting, Jonah. Gill.
@dmblees @StageTalkUK@royalcourt@FayeMarsay@lemnsissay@shanezaza@DanParrActor We think Mark Hadfield is going to be very special in this with Miriam Margolyes. He’s playing the title role. At last Hadfield isn’t just the genius making magic in the supporting cast. https://t.co/hXt41gtXBz
@polyg Agree wholeheartedly on Mark Hadfield. Extraordinary stage actor. I think he’s British theatre’s best kept secret. He’s in two new plays at the Park Theatre this summer and autumn. In one of them he plays Miriam Margolyes’ son. https://t.co/hXt41gtXBz
@comscot Hahahahaha! Maybe people will start indulging in more than just eating when watching a show- as they did only a few centuries ago. I once observed a lady give her partner a foot massage during a performance of The Cherry Orchard.
@comscot Yes, indeed. I bought a Bounty bar in a London theatre recently (i’m mad about coconut!) and it cost me £2! I was then thirsty after it so I had a glass of wine which cost me £7. Theatre programme was £8. The ticket was only £15 on a TimeOut deal. You do the math!
@comscot Yes I expect that’s very irritating. Good for you that you’re able to plan your feeding arrangements around a theatre visit without inconveniencing others. I wonder if people have lost alot of structure in their lives due an abundance of fast food outlets?
@comscot Gosh, you’ve had lots of audience experience Bob! I suppose for many people curry & spicy food is what they eat everyday so perhaps it wasn’t unusual to them to select curry for their theatre meal. If you were to enjoy some food during a show what would you ideally eat yourself?
@FionaLondonarts@TheOtherPalace Dear Fiona, we actually encourage theatre critics to eat at our shows because we know how terribly busy and hectic your lives are so that when you get seated to watch a play you are often literally starving! How awful that you were asked to leave for eating a sandwich!
@Mrjonahrussell@davidosmond Hi Jonah & David. Would you still be happy to follow us? We were a subsidiary company of Eglantine and take political theatre to camping sites. We also still feel very connected to Barrie even though he has passed over to the other side. Best wishes, Gill (G sound same as gull)
Thank u to all our followers. Eglantine Productions has officially gone into liquidation. We’re sad. We’ll miss U. No more from us now. Thanks to our favourite “flowerers” @davidosmond & @Mrjonahrussell
We’ve really enjoyed ourselves. B happy. Spring is coming. Love from EP ❤️👏🏻
@Mrjonahrussell@davidosmond Oh yes Jonah. It was the poor fight director who got it in the neck! Your dedication to authenticity was responsible for you trying to turn your head a full 360 degrees. At least the projectile vomit was real when we all had that stomach bug in Billington 🤮
We’re sorry to say goodbye to our beloved Barrie- our senior producer for many years and a hard act to follow. Barrie passed peacefully tonight at the age of 80. We’re singing show tunes through the night to celebrate his life. #Barrie 🍷
@Mrjonahrussell@davidosmond It’s not likely, Jonah. We’ve currently put auditions for our Russian horror musical “Kremlins” on hold until we hear more. But I don’t think that affects you as I didn’t see you on a casting list. ❤️
@davidosmond Hi David. Can you DM us the details of this outstanding debt. I’m afraid there may not be anything we can do to reimburse you. But I do see that there was an unpaid invoice for a piano stool being newly upholstered in 2012. Would it be connected to that maybe?
@Mrjonahrussell@davidosmond Hi Jonah. It’s probably a good time to say that after a very difficult morning and in light of revelations surrounding Barrie’s passing, Eglantine Productions has gone into administration. We will post more news soon. Love, EP. 🌸
@davidosmond Thanks, David. Keeping vigil. Will whisper your love to him. I’m sure he’ll be grateful. He’s been a producer for 53 years so he had to get ill at some point! 🌸x
We’re looking for an intern! We’d like to add some variation to our colourful team. Perhaps you consider yourself gender fluid or non-binary bisexual? Give us a holler! Usual intern duties- tea, photocopying, wine bottle recycling 🍷and collecting Barrie’s prescriptions. #Glamour
We’ve created a fantastic new part-time post at Eglantine Productions. Our Gender Director will be seeking out many more opportunities for gender swapping roles in our shows. Time to dig out those fake beards from the old costume box! #WomenInTheatre#BeardedLady#actorslife ❤️
