Today is #HumanRightsDay!
Human rights have been highlighted throughout the pandemic and on this U.N. day for human rights, we at Barrier-free AB thought we’d take a look at human rights through a disability lens.
A human right is defined as a right believed to belong justifiably to every person in the world, from birth until death. This includes every person with a disability who has the same right to housing, education, and employment, just like anyone without a disability.
To protect and ensure these human rights for everyone in Alberta, including people with disabilities, we think it’s time for Alberta to create barrier-free legislation and bring it into law.
A more accessible and #BarrierFreeAB is needed today! Sign on to day as a supporter and to stay informed as we move this forward at: https://t.co/fWa1L7Y07V
