Hello, my friends! I am working with some of the brightest future teachers and their top question is… what do I need to know right now to be successful in education? What resources will prepare me to be the best for kids? #Edtech#FutureLeaders#FutureReady#kidsfirst#Nan3edu

@pxpichula@Bluepearlnews@jayCMkay Sorry. Didn't mean to sound condescending. I've known many Ts who have said they would never live near work because they fear running into students (87% Latino). But I live in a city of 200k so I can appreciate a much smaller community might be a very different experience.
@pxpichula@Bluepearlnews@jayCMkay Been living 3 miles from the school I teach at for 10 years & the number of times I have run into a student or parent outside of school is maybe 5? The places my kids (high school) hang out and the times at which they hang out are verrrry different from me. Cuz I'm old.
@jayCMkay I live in the same community I teach. I started teaching there cuz they hired me and I loved it. I moved there because it's where I could afford to live... turned out it's a good place to live. Kids are great and they say they appreciate what I do. I guess that's enough for me.
Relationships are built through meaningful interactions between the teacher and learner. The time teachers spend talking at the front of the room is the biggest barrier to human connection.

Good Evening.. found out yesterday that my contract was not being renewed. My evaluation says "my passion for HBCUs overshadowed the schools mission" also the focus on HBCUs during Black History Month was "not needed because there are enough Black saints and Christ.."
@alicekeeler people don't leave bad jobs, they leave bad bosses. Unfortunately, we haven't taught Educational Administrators how to be good bosses. We don't teach them to coach, we don't teach them to support, we only teach them to focus on test scores as the only metric of success.
@DrBradJohnson Stanford put out a report in 2018 estimating that if CA were to cut it's attrition rate in half, it would have been able to eliminate most of its teacher shortage problem even with the annually diminishing new recruit pool.
@CJ_Kirk1979 As I think about it, an experienced master of the force can replicate or do something effectively the same as every other power on the list except making constructs like green lantern, but the net power granted by the force is still favors the force over the ring.
