A great effort by the @dorsetasa@SwimDorset team at the Inter Counties. The team result sees us returning to Division 2. But the team spirit and racing was awesome. Well done!
Thoroughly enjoyed the @WSGEvents what a well run, amazing, team orientated meet, that was vibrant, high energy and ran superbly, wish more comps were like this! And of course, super proud of an awesome Team performance (swimmers, staff and parents) from @TalbotHeathSch
What a fun and successful day 1 at @WSGEvents brilliant team work, focus on finding the ‘better’ from heats to finals and impressively earning 16 WORLD Medals - 8 x🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇, 5 x 🥈🥈🥈🥈🥈& 3 🥉🥉🥉WELL DONE TEAM #THSchSwim@TalbotHeathSch
For the athletes, support & unity, progress & courage in racing, and not bad results too. Ontario alone provided 12 Home Nation Records, 7 British Records, 4 European Records and 1 World Junior Record (to be ratified). Nice to catch up with old swimming & coaching friends too!
Wow-an awesome time away leading this talented British Swimming junior team. Through Scotland to Ontario over the two meets we have done the athletes & their home programme coaches proud. Great coaching team that displayed unity from the start, with all of us sharing & learning.
Outstanding performances over in Canada with a host of British junior athletes taking to the podium! 🙌
The standout result so far coming as the Mixed 4x50m Free Relay team claimed 🥇 and went inside the world junior record.

In honor of his induction into the International Swimming Hall of Fame this weekend, today's American Swimming Coaches Association talk comes from Bob Bowman, the greatest swim coach of our generation.
The 10 Secrets of Success by Bob Bowman (2008)
#1 – HOW YOU THINK IS EVERYTHING
“The point is: you have got to be able to get a picture in your head of where you want to go. That picture should be your focus…the people who are most successful are the ones who keep focused on the picture the best.”
#2 — DECIDE UPON YOUR TRUE DREAMS AND GOALS
“I think you have to write goals down. There is something about that process commits you to them and makes you think more about them. Specific meaningful goals like that are what carry you through the ups and downs.”
#3 – TAKE ACTION
“Just start doing it. If you are not sure where it is going to end up, get started anyway. You will figure it out. If you sit on your rear end thinking about it forever, it won’t happen most of the time. So, do not be afraid to take action and get going.”
#4 – NEVER STOP LEARNING
“The most important people who you can learn from are the great athletes. Watch video tapes. Get all the tape you can – underwater, hopefully, and above. Have your kids watch the tapes. You watch them too. That is the best way that you can learn about swimming, and I think it is the most important way to improve.”
#5 — BE PERSISTENT AND WORK HARD
“Success is a marathon; never give up.”
#6 – LEARN TO ANALYZE DETAILS
“The higher up you go, the more the little things matter. The little things are very, very important: The facts are the things upon which you can make a good decision. Knowing how to deal with your mistakes and learn from them is also important.”
#7 – FOCUS YOUR TIME AND MONEY
“Don’t let other people or things distract you. If you know where you want to go, then put your resources there. Once you decide where you are going, focus your time on it.”
#8 – DON’T BE AFRAID TO INNOVATE
“Following the herd is a sure way to mediocrity. So, you cannot be afraid to go with something that everyone else says is wrong.”
#9 — DEAL AND COMMUNICATE WITH PEOPLE EFFECTIVELY
“I think, in general, the more patient you are, and the more you are able to build a long-term relationship with your athletes, the better you are going to be. You have got to reach them on some level and learn how to communicate.”
#10. BE HONEST AND DEPENDABLE; TAKE RESPONSIBILITY
“I think that you are in charge of your attitude, which is the most important thing that you will ever have."
