@garrett_TFE This layout isn’t close to being safe. Especially for a public golf course. Resolution is awful but any modern safety cone would knock out half the holes.
@feedtheball Teugega CC, another Ross restoration I did - has many clustered fore bunkers and some paired bunkers elsewhere. Maybe I am misunderstanding what is being said, but he has clustered smaller bunkers where one large bunker would have done the job.
@feedtheball Here's Brook-Lea. They didn't build the 9 hole course. FYI - They moved the clubhouse from original location but holes on 18 hole course stayed in locations planned. Hole numbers changed. Current hole 1 is 14 on plan. Hole 4 is 18.
@feedtheball I recently restored Brook-Lea CC in Rochester, Ross (1926) and it is full of coupled and clustered bunkers both on Ross hole notes, 1925 rendering, and built as drawn. Not sure this is as unique as some are making Aronimink to be, though different than the plan.
@JohnPBlain1 They have been removing trees from around the green for a few years now. More trees being removed throughout the course based on our restoration plan.
For golfers, Rochester is "ROSS"-chester! Excited to debut the most recent Donald Ross restoration in Rochester, NY. - Brook-Lea Country Club (1926) More to come on this historic transformation as the club prepares for their centennial celebration in 2026.

One of the great things about having projects in the Adirondacks is I get a chance to do this when I can. I wonder if Seymour Dunn ever made this hike to Indian Head. He very well might have.
