Additionally HCA’s should be required to hold registration with a governing body like the NMBI for nurses and midwives and CORU for other health and social care professionals.
HCA’s need to be held accountable and responsible for their actions and not just pushed off elsewhere.
HIQA carrying out investigations into Emeis nursing homes is not enough. Emeis will be running around like headless chickens now to prepare for HIQA, random inspections on ALL nursing homes needs to be done and attention given to what matters most… safety and wellbeing.
Real change needs to happen. Examining policies both in nursing homes, acute services, residential services etc and in HIQA need to be re-examined.
Being more worried about cleaning under the fridge than ensuring the safety of those in care needs to end.
@Jklunden That’s terrifying. Scary to think that children in this country receive any sort of religious education that isn’t centred solely around Catholicism. Hope you’re ok and aren’t too shook up by this incident.
@TodSimmons4@verybrisklysale@rtenews Even after reading the article in full I still don’t understand how it doesn’t constitute murder. He was witnessed telling the man that he would kill him. Slashed his throat and then man died. I think it can be assumed that without the incident, the man would not have died.
@ServeOnlyGod It would be cool though for more DJ’s to play the anthem closing out the night though. A lot of live musicians do when they play til last call which is really cool.
@ServeOnlyGod These traditions (unfortunately for some of them) were done away with by Irish people ourselves. Dwindling levels of Catholicism, DJ’s not playing the anthem anymore, not sure about Paddy’s Day, we still tell stories and lots thank bus drivers!
@ServeOnlyGod And I don’t think we’ll ever lose our storytelling ability. Especially with a big revival of seanchaithe. I think stories now though have changed to reflect modern society more (for better or for worse)
@ServeOnlyGod I think the biggest blockade to thanking bus drivers for people (certainly on Dublin bus) is the fact that you don’t pass the driver to exit anymore, you leave out the middle of the bus and have to shout up the bus to say thank you 🤣
@elonmusk I really don’t understand the issue with using preferred pronouns. It doesn’t affect anybody’s life negatively to use preferred pronouns.
I know people that only like being referred to by their nickname. I will call them that because it’s what they want to be called. Simple.
A criminally light sentence. Previous convictions for speeding (160km/h) and assault.
There is nothing that will ever give this poor child’s family peace.
“You have expressed remorse” not when he was off out drinking and using drugs after killing a child and leaving him to die.
A driver who killed a nine-year- old boy, while driving at twice the speed limit, fled the scene of the incident and then went on a drugs and drink binge has been sentenced to five years in prison and disqualified for driving for 20 years https://t.co/YJ0opdCbS6
