We are living through a strange moment in Canada.

As an Indigenous person and a First Nations Chief, I can say things that many Canadians feel they are no longer allowed to say.

That should concern all of us.

People should not fear losing their careers, reputations, or relationships simply for expressing what they sincerely believe to be true.

I do not believe land acknowledgements are always productive. I do not believe reconciliation is moving in the right direction. I believe reconciliation needs a destination, not an endless process with no measure of success.

I say these things because I believe them. I also say them to create room for others to speak honestly.

@karenrestoule and I share that willingness. We challenge ideas that are treated as untouchable, including within our own communities. We do not do it for attention. We do it because silence does not create progress.

We are criticized by Indigenous people and by Canadians more broadly. That comes with the territory.

But public leadership is not about saying what is safest. It is about saying what you believe is true—clearly, respectfully, and without fear.

Money supply is significantly outpacing economic growth across major economies:

Canada's M2 money supply has grown +368% since January 2004, the largest increase among G7 economies.

By comparison, the Canadian economy has expanded +159% over the same period.

The US follows, with M2 growth of +279% versus a +171% increase in nominal GDP.

Meanwhile, M2 in France has surged +258% and +211% in the Euro Area, both outpacing nominal GDP growth of +84% and +102%, respectively.

In Japan, M2 has grown +90% since 2004, while its economy expanded just +25%, the slowest pace among G7 economies.

The gap between money creation and economic growth is widening.

Obviously, there’s a lot of perspectives on my recent interviews.

My favourite is the people saying “I didn’t agree with your guest but we need to hear from voices we disagree with”.

That’s my approach, and I’m grateful that we have so many Canadians who agree with that philosophy.

No echo chambers, no algorithms dedicated to your beliefs - just trying to understand the many perspectives of this great country.

Yeah, you just pointed to the problem.

Ive spoken to journalists at the CBC, CTV and Global and a few smaller publications who have said things along the lines of “there’s just issues we can’t cover the way you can because it’s too politically hot or controversial”.

The most important issues, are often the ones not ideal for editors or advertisers.

Readers shouldn’t be “happy” they should be informed.

If our media ecosystem was healthy, @hollyanndoan @scoopercooper @TaraRHenley @mgeist would be on TV every night explaining the issues facing our country.

Instead, and with all due respect to myself, they’re on my show, funded by me, paid for by me.

A lot of people have criticisms of me, about my interview with Pierre, my interview with Mr. Fife - and fair enough - I’m imperfect.

But I’m trying to fill an obvious gap in our media landscape.

People don't know what Sam Cooper has endured as a consequence of his whistleblowing journalism, and someday, somebody (me perhaps) will sit down and write that story.

Sam deserves every bit of recognition and success he receives. Without him Canadians and the world at large would never know what is actually happening around us, and I have it on good authority from a number of insiders that Sam and The Bureau are a major factor in the Trump administration's discovery of Chinese spy and subversion operations in the US.

Every generation has their pivotal journalists and Sam Cooper is one of ours. I'm proud to call him a frequent collaborator but even moreso, a friend. He sacrificed a lucrative career in mainstream journalism to tell the truth, and his name will be etched into the history books because of it.

If you don't own Wilful Blindness yet, buy it. It's a gateway to the real world.
