Shane and Barry Purcell, Athy, Co. Kildare take delivery of their first KEENAN MechFiber350, fitted with bale handler and InTouch, for their beef finishing farm. Unfortunately, we are not allowed to accept dogs as trade-ins 😜
To help farmers understand the importance of soil to their businesses, we visited a drystock, tillage and dairy farm to look at soil health in individual fields. This was part of our Sustainable Farm Insights Programme, supported by @GlanbiaIreland.
** COMPETITION**
Retweet and like to enter our competition to win 2 tonnes of RICHLAND (22.7-2.5-5 + S, Mg, Cu, Zn, Mn) fertiliser. Every granule is coated with

Balanced soil nutrition can help us reduce our Nitogen use.

@bobbymiller73 @StephenRobbFJ Hi Bobby, with average first wheat yields of 4.5T/acre compared to 3.4T/acre of gluten free oats, using Teagasc input costs and the differential in straw value, there is still a significant difference in margin. And you can still have a first wheat after the gluten free oats
Glanbia Ireland has announced plans to double its gluten-free oat acreage, citing increased consumer demand for their products.

@cozzie45 @AlltechCropSci @AlltechIreland Yes I am sure that’s possible. Myself or @AlltechIreland will post pictures throughout the rest of the growing season
Same field, just 3 weeks apart! Crop of maize was sown on 20th April and really struggling. Picture 1 was taken on 17th July and picture 2 was taken yesterday. A combination of moisture, heat and @AlltechCropSci product Impro-Grain have turned this crop around
@cozzie45 @AlltechCropSci @AlltechIreland Not in this field but there are several other sites where impro-grain is being compared to a control. Results from them will be made available post harvest
