Labour assured us that their early prison release scheme would not allow ‘the worst of the worst’ to get out early.

Well, as it turns out, that’s because the worst offenders are ALREADY being released, even outside of that particular scheme.

Abuthather Mamun, a terrorist who funded a child militia has just been released early after serving only six years of his already lenient thirteen year sentence.

That sounds crazy enough that I’ll say it again: a man who raised money for an ISIS-linked plot targeting 30 locations across London which involved children as young as 11 has been allowed to go free after serving less than half of his original sentence.

The plot involved targets including Big Ben and a busy shopping centre, and was run out of the Ripple Road Mosque in Barking and the Lantern of Knowledge Islamic School in Leyton by ringleader Umar Haque.

He showed his pupils footage of beheadings with knives and swords.

He threatened them with photos of a dead young boy, telling them they would meet the same fate if they refused to become martyrs.

But his operation relied on funding provided by Mamun, allegedly through options trading profits.
Mamun was jailed for 13 years in 2018 for preparation of terrorist acts. He was not automatically eligible for parole at the halfway point.

And yet he has been released early anyway.

How long are we going to go on like this?

I’m not down with people being arrested for social media posts or hurty words. However what’s the difference in what I said and what he said?

I was charged on a much higher charge. It should have been, at worst a malicious communications charge, but oh no the Tory Councillors wife was charged on a public order charge and a CAT1A slipped in down the line for good measure!
