A few weeks ago, former IMFSE lecturer Martin Thielens was granted the IWMA Young Talent Award in 2023 for his PhD thesis (“Advanced Computational Fluid Dynamics Modelling of Water Sprays in Fire-Driven Flows”)!

Very happy to announce the online publication of the paper for our invited talk at the Combustion Symposium in Vancouver last year: https://t.co/nGjq3GdnYF #in
Proof of concept for adaptive longitudinal ventilation for smoke and heat control for tunnel fires, with free access for a while: https://t.co/9wBWJZAW6f #in
*Simultaneous submissions* are a breach of ethics and hurt peer review. We just found out one. The paper was sent to MDPI on 26 Dec 2022. The exact same paper was sent to us on 31 Dec; we rejected it on 5 Jan. MDPI published it a few weeks later. Authors have been black listed.
🚨 ADDITIONAL FULL SCHOLARSHIPS FOR EUROPEAN STUDENTS 🚨
Submit before the 1st of April - as a European student, applying for admission into IMFSE before the deadline is applying for this scholarship as well, there is no separate procedure.

New Episode! "073 - Extracting the secret of IMFSE from Bart Merci and Eulalia Planas"
Many creators will not agree, but in some cases, copying is the highest form of admiration. And there are thing…

I am increasingly concern with MDPI. Lastest is their Reviewer Article Selector where “reviewers can select manuscripts that spark their interest”. This is a breach of editorial roles, waters down peer review, and creates a conflict of interest. This is not acceptable.
☄️☄️Goodness gracious great balls of fire! Fantastic talk from @DavidMorrisset on flame spread over spheres #39ISOC. Flow and heat transfer playing a role in this geometry.☄️☄️
Let the tradition continue. Here is the photo of IMFSE at the 39th International Symposium on Combustion. #39thISOC Very excited to meet Prof. Merci, Prof. Simeoni, and Prof. Harden. Look forward to the plenary lecture of @BartMerci tomorrow!
