Left: President Trump insulting British and NATO troops saying they weren't on the front lines
Right: Aged 21, Liz was the youngest aircrew to deploy to Afghanistan (equivalent of the Air Ambulance), and the only female member of the crew on the Chinook helicopter for four years. Liz served 10 tours across 17 years.
"We picked up so many injured and dying American soldiers off the battlefield, it was a privilege and honor to do that, so that they may live"
"To have that dismissed by Trump was insulting"
"So many of our British soldiers, we dropped them off at the front line then went to get them back a few days later. We saw what they went through"
"Trump hasn't experienced that, he hasn't served"
I don’t think the US president will read this post, but I feel obliged to pay tribute to the dozens of Netherlands soldiers who have died in Afghanistan. Even the son of our Chief of Defense was killed in action. Because the Netherlands saw it as its duty to help an ally. Statement after statement is now flying our way across the pond. The falsehood that we were not on the front line calls for a response. As dear as the Americans are to me, nonsense must be countered.
Judge Jill Pryor of the 11th Circuit on Alabama’s effort to execute Kenny Smith after a previous failed attempt to execute him by lethal injection: “The cost, I fear, will be Mr. Smith’s human dignity, and ours.”
Harris County, Texas has executed more people than anywhere else in the country. In most cases resulting in a death sentence in the past 20 years, defense lawyers failed to uncover potentially life-saving evidence, a report by @wrencollective found. https://t.co/cYCr4yUSj8

#HuubOosterhuis is overleden.
