One of those rare occasions to implement an A-Star-Pathfinding-algorithm by hand: we try to match planned bus arrivals with the actual bus telemetry data.
I wrote a Java commandline app, that can extract the structure of Munich's subway system from Screenshots of the old subway maintenance DOS application.
It was super easy: the icons and fonts have sharp edges, and the number of icons is limited.
Brute-force FTW!
