A year of litter picking on the #Humber foreshore. These numbers don't include all the big stuff (tyres, wheels, bread trays, buckets) and so we can account for several tonnes of litter removed from the waterways of this SSSI site.
Thanks to the #litterheroes everywhere.
@LegoLostAtSea and friends - @BartonRivercare found this weird thing today. Wooden plates with plastic straps covering a polystyrene block. No idea whatnits for. Any wisdom?
Glorious weather yesterday morning for @BartonRivercare 's clean up along the Humber Estuary ☀️ After several high tides, the items collected were very diverse, inclu. a rugby ball, vape shoe, fishing rope & sanitary products 💚Next event is Sat 1st April at New Holland, Lincs 👀

Good news on the war against single use plastic. I've collected three this week from a single hedge on different days. Get rid 👌
There's been some sort of explosion of polystyrene packaging in Barton. Thousands upon thousands of tiny plastic spheres are now getting walked and driven around town and washed down the drains in the heavy rain 😔
Shout out to all the litter picking organisers and coordinators out there getting stuff done behind the scenes week in week out. Y'all are #LitterHeroes@River_Care@KeepBritainTidy
💧 The amount of water wasted every day by Thames Water is equivalent to running a hosepipe non-stop for 73 years, according to @GMB_union.
In other words, if you turned on a hosepipe when Queen Elizabeth became Queen, you'd have wasted less water than Thames Water will today...
On Saturday you could find @BartonRivercare along the Humber estuary at New Holland 💙 6 #LitterHeroes cleared 9 bags full of very old and broken up waste including 28 plastic bottles, 19 cans, a tv, tyre and sofa cushions. Special shout out to Alfie who was an absolute ⭐ 👏👏👏
