Sticking To The Sunnah Is Better
Shaykh Al-Albaani [رحمه الله] said:
The importance is not of performing a large amount of worship, but rather, is it according to the Sunnah and far away from Bida’.
Ibn Masood [رضي الله عنه] also indicated to this point in his saying:
The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said:
Truth leads one to Paradise and virtue leads one to Paradise and the person tells the truth until he is recorded as truthful and lie leads to obscenity and obscenity leads to Hell, and the person tells a lie until he is recorded as a liar.
Muslim
ibn ʿuthaymīn said:
it is from the rights of the prophet ﷺ that you increase in sending ṣalāh and salām upon him. he does not need your ṣalāh or salām, but you are in need of it’s reward.
- sharḥ riyāḍ al-ṣāliḥīn 5/175
The dua is:
اللَّهُ اللَّهُ رَبِّي لَا أُشْرِكُ بِهِ شَيْئًا
Allahu Allahu Rabbi la ushriku bihi shay’an
“Allah, Allah is my Lord, I do not associate anything with Him.”
The Prophet ﷺ taught it for times of distress, worry or grief.
Ibn Taymiyyah رحمه الله said:
“It is not permissible for anyone to despair of Allāh’s mercy even if his sins are enormous.”
[مجموع الفتاوى ١٦/١٩]
Allah says:
“Say, ‘O My servants who have transgressed against themselves, do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah
People will use your past against you when you embrace the sunnah, they will mock you with your past sins when you turn a new leaf, don't let it bother you, don't let it hurt you
RULING ON PRAYING BEHIND THE IMAAM WHO FOLLOWS SOOFIYYAH TAREEQAH
Questioner: Our Imaam is from the people of Toreeqah, can we pray behind him?
Dr Sharof: Examine his Toreeqah. If he upholds all the Kufr beliefs which exist in Toreeqah, you must not pray behind him. Inform the congregation about his beliefs and mobilize them away from him.
The Congregation: Laughing mode activated!
Dr Sharof: He has no right to lead the Muslims in prayer because he believes in something which contradicts the Qur’aan and the Sunnah of the Prophet (sollaLloohu ‘alayhi wa sallam). If he is from the people of Toreeqatu Qaadiriyyah and he upholds the kufr beliefs in their book, ‘Al Fuyudoot ar-robbaaniyyah’, for example, ‘the belief that ‘AbdulQaadir al-Jeelaanee is the one who saved Nooh (‘alayhi ssalaam) from capsizing’; ‘the belief that he (‘AbdulQaadir al-Jeelaanee) is the one who saved Ibrooheem (‘alayhi ssalaam) from fire’; ‘the belief that he (‘AbdulQaadir al-Jeelaanee) assisted Moosa to pass through the sea safely; you must not pray behind him. You must not pray behind him!
But why is it that there are many people who prefer Toreeqah to Islaam? Toreeqah is different from Islaam. The Prophet (sollaLloohu ‘alayhi wa sallam) has a way, why is it that they do not follow the way of the Prophet? Allaah says, ‘Say: This is my way; I invite unto Allaah with sure knowledge, I and whosoever follows me with sure knowledge. And Glorified and Exalted be Allaah. And I am not of the polytheists’ [Soorah Yoosuf (12):108]. Why do people follow Ahmad Tijaaniy, ‘AbdulQaadir Jeelaanee, Shaazilee, Muhammad al-Badawee and so on? There are many lies in their creed. No one follows Toreeqah except a person who does not make use of his commonsense appropriately. The followers of a Shaykh, murid (Soofee student), must stand before his Shaykh the same way the deceased appears completely immobile when washing the body (for Janaazah); and must accept whatever the Shaykh says. This means that the one who follows Toreeqah must keep his intellect aside.
Secondly, from their principles is that anyone who asks his Shaykh about how and why they hold a (strange) belief will never succeed. If you ask these questions you have been asking so far from them, their response will be that you will never succeed. That is why they easily direct their followers as they wish. For this reason, follow the Sunnah not Toreeqah. People who are into it should think deeply, they will discover that there are so many lies in their creed. For example, Ahmad Tijaaniy was born at a time when the Prophet had died for 1,150 years, yet he claimed that the saw the Prophet face to face. Imagine this great lie! This is the Prophet who said he is the first person whose grave will be opened on the day of Qiyaamah. He claimed that the Prophet gave him Solaat al-Faatih. If there is a person who believes that the Prophet betrayed us and did not convey the whole message, is that person a Muslim? Such a person is a disbeliever. Anybody who believes that the Prophet did not complete the message before he departed is a disbeliever. They even claim that anyone who does not recite it (Solaat al-Faatih) will not succeed. There is a brother who prayed behind an Imaam who was reciting Solaat al-Faatih instead of Soorah al-Faatihah, he said immediately he noticed he pulled back his friend and they left the mosque immediately. I told him that he should have pulled back everyone behind the Imaam. This is because their prayer is a waste of time. That is it.

The Muslim Community of Ibadan, the leadership of the Muslim Community of Oyo State, the League of Imams and Alfas of Yorùbá Land, Edo and Delta, FOMWAN, MURIC, and other notable Islamic organisations across Nigeria should now rise in defence of the Muslim sister who was allegedly molested and defrauded by the Ololu people in Ibadan.
When the incident first became public, many assumed she was at fault and remained silent out of respect for the traditional institution. However, if it has now been established that she committed no wrongdoing and was instead deliberately targeted for sinister purposes, then silence is no longer an option.
Justice is a fundamental Islamic value. It must be pursued fairly, lawfully, and without fear or favour, regardless of the status or influence of those involved. Our collective responsibility is not to inflame tensions but to ensure that every victim receives justice and that every allegation is thoroughly investigated by the appropriate authorities.
This is not only about one woman; it is about protecting the dignity, rights, and safety of every citizen. Muslim organisations and community leaders should therefore lend their voices to the lawful pursuit of justice, so that, if wrongdoing is established, those responsible are held accountable and no one else is subjected to such abuse again.
When it's time for sōlah, don't do anything again, stop everything you're doing and go observe SŌLAH, this is our primary duty in this DUNYA, this is the DEEN -
