Oswald of Northumbria died #OnThisDay in 641 or 642. This image from MS 23 shows Cuthbert of Lindisfarne holding Oswald's head, which was buried next to Cuthbert in Durham. [MS 23 f.1]
A highlight from a recent trip to Lincolnshire: some jewels of medieval stained glass in Wrangle, a village on the flat Fenland road between Boston and Skegness. The glass is from the 14th-15th century, made when Margery Kempe was having heavenly visions just across the Wash.
Applications are flying in for this event! It’s going to be a great night. Keep them coming #PhD students!
