@80sNerdBurner@AngryJoeShow Project hail Mary was a very popular book, I also think you’re forgetting how excited people were when the first avatar trailer dropped. It’s not like he managed to was under marketed . People just don’t care about this IP
@EricWalter35968@JackAllen59@eveningmirrror It’s not. Marketing isn’t included in the base budgets. A good rule of thumb is for a movie needs to make 2-2.5X its base budget to be profitable
@eveningmirrror It’s similar but most marvel movies even bad ones generally make double what this movie made opening weekend. Also 200 is the budget but generally for a movie to be profitable it had to make 2.5x that number. So around 450-500.
@eveningmirrror Movies generally make a large portion of their money opening weekend. A 200 million dollar movie making 50 world wide is extremely bad, seeing as most movies drop 40-50% their 2nd week
@80sNerdBurner@AngryJoeShow You can’t make people care about a movie they aren’t interested in. I don’t think marketing was the problem. People just don’t care about he man
@LewisYatesOfcl@AngryJoeShow People went to go see obsession, backrooms, scary movie etc. it’s not that people aren’t going it’s just people don’t care about he man
@AngryJoeShow I just don’t think enough people care about he man. This is a movie for the dads and unfortunately not enough of them care about he man either
@RoninDuval@SuaKCravens Avg 20 against a kd less Houston and getting swept by OKC shouldn’t mean you get a max contract. Maxs should be reserved for the clear best player on the team Austin is the 3rd best player. He deserves to get paid but not a max
