Ian Kinsler played 14 seasons in Major League Baseball and was inducted into the Texas Rangers Hall of Fame in 2022.

South Mountain CC, with six players from Southern Arizona, remains alive in the NJCAA D2 World Series at Enid, Okla. The Cougars are in the semifinals playing Pasco-Hernando (Fla.) and they are leading 10-1 T3.
If the score holds, South Mountain, coming out of the elimination bracket, would force an "if" game with Pasco-Hernandez tomorrow at 1 p.m. (Tucson time). The winner would then advance to the championship game Saturday.
