See the thing about baseball is it’s the one major college sport NIL hasn’t really affected yet and is still what college sports was originally all about.
This is so sick and feels like what all of college sports used to feel like
All these D1/D2 guys going in the portal looking for NIL money and better places…
Bunch of Juco dogs would help you win for a peanut butter sandwich and a chocolate milk.
Man do I love d3 baseball….Nothing like Issac Thornton of East Texas Baptist throwing 144 pitches 0 earned in opening round against Denison….. clearly had lost it at the end but coach did not care…

Can confirm. While I don’t miss it, JUCO has to be the most gritty, pure form of baseball one can experience.
On another note, a lot of my addictions did also originate during my time in JUCO. Someone’s gotta do it.
If you can’t lift 5-6x per week AND play 3-4 games per week…
You aren’t ready for college baseball.
This is your reality at that level. If that is too much for you, join a frat.
Luke Skarda (30, TX) settled in nicely in his start and attacked hitters with the FB. Up to 84 with the heater, paired nicely with a strong BB. Gets the strikeout here with the BB. #BestofTheBest
Geat way to end my HS career! Thank you to the San Antonio Area Baseball Coaches Association for selecting me for the Senior Salute All-Star game.
Started at 2B batted 3rd. Went 2-3 with a single, double and an RBI. @BaseballDba@Grishman27@RyanBenitez34
“The dugout has no energy.” Coach we gave up a 5 spot in the first and this dudes topping 82 mph with a below average slider is not hitting us in the 5th #NACCtion
@AdamMazza@alixonmartinez2@PghPennStateDad I did this. 2 years of juco ball - Had 17 offers and my best compensation package was from D3, they leveraged two degrees into my package. Found more money for me from other scholarships the school could offer. Had a full ride to D2 that ended shutting down a couple years later.
“I can’t throw a bull pen because I don’t have a Catcher“
is the weakest, lamest excuse on earth.
Catchers are there to make your pitch look better than it was.
You need to throw to an object that is not moving to your throw when you are training.
My high school coach worked us hard.
But nothing compared to college baseball.
That first week on campus, I was so sore I could barely take a step longer than 6 inches.
That’s when I realized:
There are levels to this game.
What high school players think college baseball is:
• gear
• attention
• status
What it actually is:
• pressure
• accountability
• competition
Everybody wants the identity.
Few want the responsibility.
A lot of players say they want to play college baseball.
What they actually want is the identity of being a college baseball player.
Those are different things.
