@Dorothy_Perkins paid for unlimited next day delivery but it’s coming standard delivery and apparently there is nothing that you can do??? I need the order before Tuesday. Feel like this is a misrepresentation of a sale here on your website. How can I take this further?
I do a lot of deep breathing work each day as well as going to the gym five times a week. It helps me manage my stress capacity bucket. What do you do to manage yours?
Whatever the source of stress, one thing remains - it’s just not good for us and experiencing it for sustained periods is not healthy. There are two ways we can combat stress:
1.Relaxation
2.Exercise
When it comes to stress we have two modes:
1.Competency Mode
2.Survival Mode
Survival mode is triggered when our flight or fight response is launched. In the 21st century, sources of stress can stem from trying to find lost keys to dealing with bereavement.
New leaders and particularly middle leaders are often predisposed to untenable levels of stress. Line managing people mean that we, as leaders, have a moral imperative to ensure that we are looking after our teams’ wellbeing as well as our own.
Stresses happen all day every day, what affects some doesn’t affect others, we are all different, it is too simplistic to say we should avoid stress. That would be simply impossible, what we can do instead is change the way we respond to it.
When our environment is wrong we either need to find capacity to grow or we need to be replanted somewhere else. Luckily for me, I was placed in a larger pot with room to develop without further strain, which allowed me to heal.
The impetus for pursuing a career in coaching, internally in my employed capacity and externally as a coach, was always to help other leaders in their time of need and to help propel them to their self-actualised selves.
After a sustained, chronic period of stress I endured last year, I found myself completely and utterly burned out. There was absolutely nothing left in the tank, at that particular time in my life I fit every single word of the World Health Organisation’s definition of Burnout.
This week I added stress coaching to my repertoire of skills. I attended a two day training course facilitated by Barefoot Coaching and thoroughly enjoyed the course content.
Stress management is something close to my heart.
