@countmaculad Sadly most Catholics don't understand the obligation of man to know God and seek truth as enumerated by Manning and just spout "muh heckin' invincible ignorance covers a multitude of sins".
The only thing that keeps me up at night is Cardinal Baronius de-canonizing St. Clement of Alexandria because Photius the heresiarch and schismatic supreme said he had reservations about Clement's orthodoxy (believing that humans and angelic beings interbred).
The only thing that keeps me up at night about the SSPX is their rejection of the infallibility of post-conciliar canonisations. Unless there is a substantial difference between the infallible declaration of a canonisation and that of a dogma, you guys might even be heretics...😭
@HilarityjaneArt@SagaciousMick If Cardinal Baronius could effectively "de-canonize" St. Clement of Alexandria, based on the opinions of Photius (of all people to listen to!), maybe in the future, someone will "fix" the canonizations of this era too.
A decision tree on when it is permissible to have marital sex according to medieval sources from "Law, Sex, and Christian Society in Medieval Europe" by James A. Brundage (it works out to somewhere around five times a month):
@JustinusRomanus Honest trads won't contest that Pius XI and Pius XII had numerous failings during their pontificates. The New Springtime movement didn't spring into existence at Vatican II. The AF condemnation, the Cristeros, "active participation", the refusal to act on Fatima etc.
@bowtiedbrazil The Power Vacuum left if the PCC gets taken out will lead to Years of Lead in São Paulo, though. Feuding neo-factions era is not gonna go well at all.
