In 2020, a Japanese store tested out VR-enabled telepresence by allowing a robot to be controlled remotely by a guy in a headset. Not sure this went anywhere, but it's a cool concept.
This machine is called a rotary car dumper, also known as the wagon tipper. It's designed to unload certain kinds of rail cars by holding it to a section of track and then rotating the track and car together to dump out the contents.
