One of the hardest things to learn when you have traumatic shit happen to you is that you are not the main character. You are not the only person bad shit has happened to. Most people have had awful horrible experiences, some way worse than you, and you cannot go through life acting like you are uniquely punished and everyone else is a side character in your story. You need to understand that everyone has pain, everyone has struggled, and we all still need to work on our issues and take initiative to make our lives better. You cant wallow in your pain and act like no one can possibly understand. It wont make anything better. To get better you have to accept that you are solely responsible for your own healing, as unfair as that is.
