Due to historical reasons, Croatians as a nation today are constituent people of two countries, both of which are considered our ancestral homelands - Croatia & Bosnia and Herzegovina (Herzeg-Bosnia)

#OTD in 1991 Serbian forces launched their fiercest attack on Dubrovnik (South Croatia). 🇭🇷 soldiers in Fort Imperial stood their ground. The fort was built by 🇫🇷 after the 1806 Russian-Serbian-Montenegrin attack on the "crown of all Croatian cities" (16th c. Croat poet Vidali).
