Today, I had a productive meeting with the FAO Representative to Nigeria and to ECOWAS, Dr. Hussein Gadain @husseingadain, to strengthen collaboration between NBMA and FAO on biosafety, biosecurity, sustainable agriculture and food security.
Our discussions focused on building stronger regulatory systems, enhancing institutional capacity, promoting responsible biotechnology, and supporting sustainable agriculture in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
We look forward to translating this partnership into tangible outcomes that support innovation, protect public health and the environment, and contribute to a more food-secure Nigeria.

EXEMPLARY LEADERSHIP
The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, visited Zamfara State wearing the cap of the Police Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU).
He attended the funeral prayers of three gallant police officers — SP Abdulrazak Musa Hassan, Inspector Murtala Musa, and Inspector Auwal Ahmad — who, God willing, attained martyrdom yesterday evening along the Anka–Bagega road after their armored vehicle struck an improvised explosive device (IED).
After participating in the funeral rites of his fallen officers, the IGP paid condolence visits to their families.
Late SP Abdulrazak Musa Hassan was the Commander of the EOD-CBRN Unit (Explosive Ordnance Disposal – Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear) in Zamfara State. The unit is responsible for detecting and neutralizing bombs, explosive devices, hazardous chemicals, and other security threats.
SP Abdulrazak was highly skilled in explosives management and carried out his duties with exceptional courage and professionalism. He fought bravely in the line of duty and ultimately paid the supreme sacrifice alongside his team.
We pray that Almighty Allah forgives their shortcomings, grants them eternal mercy, and admits them among the martyrs.
May their souls rest in perfect peace. 🤲🏽🕊️
Video of SP Abdurrazak Hassan, Commander of the EOD Unit in Zamfara State, recorded just yesterday before he and his team embarked on an operation that would tragically become his last.
He was one of three police officers killed on Monday after their vehicle struck an IED planted by terrorists in Zamfara. The officers were conducting a routine patrol targeting armed groups along the Anka–Bagega axis when one of the police unit’s armoured personnel carriers ran over the IED buried by the terrorists.
All three fallen officers were trained Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) specialists attached to the Zamfara State Police Command.
According to reports, following the explosion, armed bandits emerged from the surrounding forest, torched the damaged armoured vehicle, and then retreated back into the bush.
@drfatima84 Congratulations Dr. on your recent appointment May Allah guide you in all ramifications, grant you wisdom and bless your tenure with success and excellence.
