Don't Wait for the Fire Before Buying an Extinguisher.
Some organizations take cybersecurity seriously only after suffering a breach.
That's like buying a fire extinguisher after the building has already burned.
GRC lesson: Identify and manage risks before they become incidents.
A traffic light doesn't eliminate every road accident. It controls behaviour and reduces risk.
Cybersecurity controls work similarly.
Controls are designed to reduce risk, not necessarily eliminate every possible threat.

Imagine hiring a cleaner and giving them the keys to your bedroom, office, safe, and garage.
That would be unnecessary.
The same applies to organizational systems.
GRC principle:
Least privilege - people should receive only the access they need to perform their duties.
Your phone may contain banking apps, emails, social media accounts, documents, and authentication codes. Losing it could expose far more than your physical wallet. Protect your phone like a financial asset.
Audit Question: If I lost my phone today, what could someone access?
Being at home doesn't mean you leave every door unlocked. Likewise, being on a trusted network doesn't mean your devices are automatically safe.
Lock your computer when stepping away and secure your devices with PINs, passwords, biometrics, or other appropriate controls.
You wouldn't give your house key to everyone you meet. Your password deserves the same protection.
Cybersecurity lesson: Use strong, unique passwords and never share them unnecessarily.
Ask yourself: Who has access to my digital "house"?
Yesterday, I had the privilege of joining the Legal Green NDC Lawyers at the 5th National Conference, followed by a cocktail reception in honor of the 50th Anniversary at the Bar of Lawyer Tsatsu Tsikata.
Growing up, I regarded Mr. T as a superhero in the legal arena, one who courageously defied odds and stood firm against the very embodiment of the law. Yesterday’s testimonies and reflections from colleagues and admirers alike reaffirmed this belief.
It is now clear to me that Tsatsu Tsikata is not only a legal luminary, but indeed the very embodiment of the law itself—a towering figure whose brilliance, resilience, and legacy will continue to inspire generations.
We celebrate not just a man, but an institution.

The black box got me traumatized. Those who will listen will have to be the toughest people in Ghana. Because listen to how they’ll be so scared when they realized the disaster they were about to face. The screams, the prayers and all that. Lailai lilalai🥺💔
