‘The Body of Christ’, directed by Bea Lema, has been awarded first place in the International Animated Short Film Competition at the 15th edition of Chilemonos, International Animation Festival.

The Basque production ‘Winnipeg, Seeds of Hope’ has been selected for the 28th Shanghai International Film Festival, taking place from the 12th to the 21st of June.
The film will compete in the Animation section, as one of five titles selected in this category.

The festival presents between 250 and 350 short films from around the world across its four competitions and special programmes.
It will take place from the 26th to the 31st of May.

‘Popel’ has been selected for Doxumentale, the Berlin International Documentary and Media Festival, taking place from 27May to 7 June
Doxumentale celebrates the power of non-fiction, bringing together film, ideas and audiences through screenings, talks and events across the city
‘Sundays’, by Alauda Ruiz de Azúa, among the award-winning works at the Platino Awards.
The ceremony, held on 9 May in Riviera Maya, brought together some of the most notable productions in Ibero-American cinema. Among the works recognised, ‘Sundays’ received several awards. 💪
Paul Urkijo’s ‘Gaua’ is continuing its impressive international festival run.
🏆 The film has won the Méliès d’Argent for Best Film at Fantaspoa. It has also won Best Screenplay in the Ibero-American competition.

In the feature film section, ‘Decorado’ by Alberto Vázquez will compete, while in the feature film Contrechamp section ‘Winnipeg, Seeds of Hope’ by Beñat Beitia and Elio Quiroga will take part.

Great news for Basque cinema!
The official programme for the Annecy Festival has now been announced. The event will take place from the 21st to the 27th of June, and this year it will feature Basque presence in two of its main sections.
