How many plays can you pull up over the last two decades that were similar to that play? It’s one thing to say it wasn’t a fumble. If the qb gets the benefit of that play being ruled as a pass then the bare minimum standard should be that the pass attempt actually goes forwards (not 15 yards behind him). Not a fumble, okay sure…but it was a backwards pass and should be considered a live ball.
