Semanticists -
If you’re interested in binding dependencies, the de se-de re distinction, strict-sloppy ambiguities, and how these all interact in the grammar of logophoricty, come check out this paper just published in Natural Language Semantics!

Hi linguists, a new and rich in content volume of snippets is online (and the first that @garysthoms and I put together!). Check it out! https://t.co/Es6TjPdP5N
New paper with Tue Trinh: Conditional Questions ("if you come, will Bea leave?") are derived by mvt+ syntactic reconstruction. The semantics is simple, and the theory makes correct predictions re: diagnostics for reconstructions. Comments welcome! https://t.co/5m1qd53igP
Hi there linguists! @garysthoms and I are entering the role of Snippets editors. If you have something short you wish our community to know about, please consider submitting! (visit https://t.co/Es6TjPdP5N for content requirement.) Cheers!
@idanlandau 1) Mary sat on *the* couch (which/that/∅) she bought in Ikea
2) Mary sat on *her* couch (which/*that/*∅) she bought in Ikea (only non-restrictive)
@DaniilAltshuler Not sure if this is relevant, but Zoost Zwarts has a number of papers (some with Yoad Winter, and others) on spatial (formal) semantics. For example:

@David_Erschler I personally find them pretty marginal (in Hebrew too), except for a number of often-used (and perhaps frozen) collocations, the most prominent of which is
-"I love you"
-"I do too".
@David_Erschler This construction has been studied by Isabelle Charnavel under the name super-sloppy readings. It's not so clear to me how productive it is in English. If I remember correctly I think she reports a great deal of speaker variation on such cases.

MIT didn’t want to punish antisemitic foreign students harassing American Jews on campus because suspension would lead to deportation under the student visa rules. So MIT chose to help the antisemites instead of punishing them.
Morality run amok.
MIT is one of the most prestigious universities in the US. These days, foreigners make up about 30% of the MIT student body. Jewish students, on the other hand, make up about 6% of the MIT student body — a campus minority.
