Oak Hill Genetics shipped 1,518 hound-mix dogs to laboratories in 18 months.

These dogs are bred to be used in experiments. Some were only 3 months old.

The dogs went to at least 44 labs. American Preclinical Services took 418. Others went to the University of Utah, Ohio State, Washington University, Johns Hopkins, and USC. Some of those labs still get NIH funding.

The studies include heart failure, stroke, and nerve injury. Dogs have had arteries tied off, pacemakers put in, and their hearts forced to beat hundreds of times a minute. Then they are killed.

A November 2025 inspection found about 1,200 dogs still at Oak Hill.

This is legal. USDA Class A breeder. They call them “purpose-bred research dogs.”

Ridglan Farms is getting out of selling beagles to labs. Oak Hill is still selling dogs.

1,518 dogs in 18 months. They are still breeding more.
