Lewis Baston - writing a book about borderlands in Europe: their history, politics, landscape, folklore, future. Represented by A.M. Heath Literary Agency.
Borderlines is on its way… my book can be pre-ordered through any of the sources linked here by my publishers. It’s an unusual angle on European history. I hope you like it. https://t.co/Nyy776013k
A huge thank you to Lewis for joining the show. His book BORDERLINES - which I read over Christmas - is a really fantastic read. Moving, fascinating, immensely evocative. I loved it!

Actually finally, a shameful omission from the above is
Borderlines by @BastonBorders, as a fellow lover of borders, frontiers, checkpoints and vanished corners of Europe, his book was a treat to read
On key borders (central Europe and elsewhere) that define the past, present and future of Europe, a must read by @BastonBorders.
The book captures so many of my travel notes better than i would have done.
Thanks @BrunoTertrais for the tip.
Looking forward to a 🇫🇷 translation.
@hoyer_kat Just bought 'Vertigo.' New to me so thanks for the recommendation. Was also pleased to see @BastonBorders' book listed. I think it's a modern masterpiece.
@KrystiBrice It’s very easy to get set up there and it’s a lot like Twitter was before things went bad. I’m keeping this borders account going for a bit because BlSk is still a bit British/ US and my community here is pleasantly multinational.
#Borderlands. The small river that divides #Latvia from #Lithuania here at Ezeres. Bridge destroyed during #WW2 and never rebuilt. There is a nearby new road bridge though.

Millions of Germans once lived east of the current state boundaries - a sensitive part of history that some seek to reverse, others to erase. Is it possible to do neither while allowing future Germans to remember East Prussia & Co, I wonder in ZEITGEIST 👇
